iCel Battery Pack - Used with iTouch Oct 29, 2008
The iCel is a great product. I knew I would like this battery pack as soon as I opened the box. The packaging of this item was impressive. The carrying case that is included will also help keep things nice while traveling.
Being able to charge on the go is great when you do not have access to an outlet or a computer charger. This would be ideal for college students in particular. For example, if a student forgets to charge their iPhone or iPod overnight. When they are leaving for classes they realize that they forgot to charge the phone, but they have to make a lot of calls. They could connect this battery pack to the device and slip it into a backpack. Then the phone or MP3 player will be charging while walking to class....problem solved!
The performance of this battery pack is also impressive. After my first use, the battery was giving my iTouch about 19 hours worth of additional operating. This was with the iTouch playing music non-stop and keeping the screen lit to use as much power as I could. That is a tremendous amount of time from a battery this small. It also charged my iTouch 3 times before I needed to recharge the battery pack.
I did have one problem with the supplied USB cord as soon as I took it out of the packaging. I took the battery pack from the box straight to my computer to do an initial charge. When I was plugging in the small end of the USB cord into the battery pack I realized that the rectangular casing was missing. I knew it had been there just a minute ago and found each half on the ground behind me. I have never seen a connector come apart like this. It was an easy fix though. I put a touch of superglue along the edge and pressed the casing back on the connector. This has been the only problem I have had so far with this battery.
From packaging to styling to performance, this battery pack is a great buy!
