Great speaker, but the annoying buttons and lack of good volume functionality put a damper on the experience May 05, 2011
By Dylan Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1XLWR1CYS83NK It's a very beautifully designed speaker, and I love the fact that you can plug other speakers into it, therefore making it a bluetooth connection to any audio outlet in the room. They market it as allowing you to daisy chain other Satechi speakers to it, but only one needs to have the bluetooth connection to a music device, so you might as well get a different speaker to plug in if you want a bigger louder sound.
I also like the sound quality and the compact design, as well as the cord so in case someone has a device that doesn't have bluetooth, that's a great addition. One thing about the cord though, is that it is only about 4 inches, so beware. It really is only a backup, so don't expect to depend on it. Hopefully you can just use it as intended through bluetooth.
I do have some pretty annoying problems with the buttons and their functionality. There are only 3 buttons, and they do all sorts of different things depending on how you press them. Unfortunately, for the volume control, one of the most used controls for a speaker in my opinion, you have to hold "next track" or "previous track" buttons. This means that if you don't hold it long enough it will skip the track or something! Also, it goes up slowly so I can't tell what the volume is at. I wouldn't be surprised if people owned this speaker and didn't even know it had a volume control. Speaking of volume, it also doesn't remember what the volume was at when I turn on the speaker again. This means every single time I turn on the speaker I have to hold the next track button to turn in all up, and I never know when to stop holding it since there's no visual or audible feedback that the volume limit has been passed (other than the music not getting louder of course, but with dynamics changing on the audio all the time it's very unreliable feedback). I turn it all the way up so I don't have to deal with volume on the speaker and can just change the volume on my music device.
The buttons are also hard to press with one finger. Since they're on an angle, you have to hold the entire speaker to get enough force to press the button correctly.
And I have to hold the power button for too long before it turns on or off, and sometimes there's no audible sound that lets me know if it's been done yet. It seems like sometimes there is a sound and sometimes there isn't, but I feel like I've been holding the button for forever.
I wish that there was just an easier way to change the volume and turn the speaker on and off, but they made those almost the most complicated things to do.

Finally! Mar 28, 2011
By Mikey This speaker does everything you could ask for.
I use it with my MOTO Droid. It works seamlessly with the Bluetooth connection and has the ability to pause, change tracks, and even answer incoming calls. It also has a wired connection if you don't need as much portability, and this gives even louder sound and better quality as can be expected with a hardwired connection.
The battery life is awesome too and the fact that its rechargeable puts it at the top of the class IMO.
The sound quality is great for such a small speaker and it even packs some decent bass levels. The build quality seems very durable and easily compacts for simple storage when travelling.
I would love for them to come out with something similar to this that would also be waterproof for use in the shower. I keep mine on the sink when showering and it fills the entire bathroom with sound.
Highly recommended.

Finally, a bluetooth for IPad Jun 01, 2011
By Vincent C. Gandolfi I've been searching for a wireless speaker for my IPad. Because of an illness, I use the IPad's text to speech app to communicate with people but the IPad does not have enough volume to talk in restaurants ot meetings with a number of people. This little gadget is small enough to fit in my pocket, loud enough and clear enough for everyone to hear what I am saying. It is also simple to set up and use.
Simply amazing.

WOW great little product with one critical feature not mentioned!! Nov 02, 2011
By Bapu Received the product very quickly. First of all I was astonished at how small it was, yet sounds very crisp. Volume is very decent (not very loud). But I am primarily using this at my office which is a quiet place so I use it at 20% volume and am completely satisfied. An astonishingly cool feature that is not advertised is that this product has a stereo pin on the opposite side of the charging (mini usb) pin. All you do is connect it to a audio cable which would then go into the AUX of a car or into any receiver and the little master pushes audio to the carstereo/receiver. In other words it acts like a A2DP bluetooth adapter also... I was excited to discover this feature. I used it last saturday at a party, I was walking around with my iPad with the DJAY app running with all the effects completely wireless and my receiver was playing the audio perfectly!! This feature makes this amazing product worth 4X its price. I am completely blown away by this neat little product and can't wait to see what Satechi comes up with next!!
