5Design is superior  Sep 01, 2010
I had a cheap $12 mount that did is job, but broke twice. This one is just plain easier to use, better build quality, everything is just easier. The released button is on the back so you can simultaneously hold on to your phone and release it at the same time... the other one I had took two hands. This one has a knob you turn to tighten the suction cup, while the other had a lever. This is a really great mount. The only bad part is the price--$31.50 is a bit high to pay for any mount in my opinion. Still better than buying $12 ones that keep breaking though.

It works perfectly as designed. I love how easy it is to adjust and how solid the mount is when it holds the iPhone. I really bought it so I could mount the iPhone without taking off the protective case. For that end, it's great.

5Fabulous car mount for the iPhone 4.  Aug 26, 2010
Received the mount very quickly and had no problems installing it on my windshield. The suction mechanism is one that screws down for a tight seal so you don't have to worry about it falling off. I use the universal mount attachment that came with the product and it is very easy to pop open and closed for quick removal and docking. The clamps are lined with a soft material so you don't have to worry about scratching the phone. It also opens up wide enough that I don't think you'd have a problem with any of the current cases on the market. I'm very happy with this mount and happily recommend it.

I use this when I use my iPhone as a GPS navigator using TomTom (purchased separately from iTunes).

The suction works GREAT on windows but it doesn't work at all on the dashboard. This can turn on all 4 axis (3 axis+rotating the entire device itself) so your smartphone will never need to be out of place.

The suction on the my car window is strong enough so that it never pops out. It can easily handle my iPhone 4 without any need to worry about my iPhone being dislocated.

This device comes with 2 holders. The first holder works well when my iPhone 4 has no bumpers of any kind. But it doesn't fit when I use the standard Apple iPhone 4 bumper. Luckily, the second holder is more of a multi-smartphone holder that can handle almost any smartphone. My iPhone 4 with the standard Apple bumper fits very well in the multiple-smartphone holder. The only issue is that when I press on the sides to hold my phone firmly it can trigger the volume control buttons.

Please note, this device does nothing but hold your smartphone to the windows. It has no charger nor a GPS or a voice amplifier. The voice amplifier, in my opinion, is what is really needed. The iPhone 4 speaker is not very loud, especially when driving with the windows down. So it is hard to hear TomTom's voice instructions except when there is little noise in the car interior.

I recommend this device. It is sturdy and will amply attach your smartphone to your car windshield without having to worry about it popping off or dropping your smartphone.
