5Great timer  Aug 14, 2010
This is a dead simple timer -- just plug it in, turn it on and your ready to start clicking away. This item works awesome for me taking still photos at night, especially storms and moon pictures. I can set this timer up and, without fooling with my camera's settings, have it take as many shots as I want over as long as I want. Really handy if I want to take dozens of photos of an approaching storm at night. I like being able to change the settings without having to scrunch down in front of my camera on its tripod.

Pros: Simple when you just need to 'click', but has many extended functions. Cheap. Well-made. The backlight is wonderful.

Cons: None that I can think of.

3Worked fine for 10 months - then died.  Jan 23, 2010
!. This unit is NOT identical to the Nikon MC-36 despite what another reviewer said. It does not even look exactly the same.
2. Another reviewer's comment about the bulb button being difficult to slide and lock is correct in my experience.
3. The timer is very useful (essential) for my long exposures of chemiluminescent images in the dark and I was very happy with it until it broke after 10 months - a bad wire connection in the cord.
4. Customer service seems good so far. The unit is still under warranty (1 yr) and they quickly sent me a form by email to fill out for a return/replacement.
5. Since a remote timer is needed for our Nikon D700 on an almost daily basis, loss of use for even a few days is very inconvenient. As a result I am buying the Nikon MC-36 as my primary timer and will use the Satechi replacement as a backup.
6. Unless you are a professional, or a heavy user of such a timer like me, the Satechi is probably a good buy and may last much longer than mine.

5Great accessory  Jan 18, 2010
Easy to use, worked well with my Nikon D 300.
On and off switch very handy, Nikon original does not offer this option.
Almost half of the price of Nikon product and offer the same functions.

5Flawless Performance  Dec 12, 2009
I was a bit leary to purchase an off-brand item for my Nikon camera but I figured the price was low enough that I would chalk it up to experience if it didn't work out. I received the timer within a few days of ordering and was more than pleased with its performance. I have used the Satechi TR-B with my D200 for a few weeks now and have been amazed at how easy it is to use. I have taken a lot of pictures with my macro lens using the timer as well as setting it up to take sequential, timed exposures for asto-photography. I am VERY pleased with the performance so far.

5Review of Satechi product and service  Nov 19, 2009
The product received was exactly as stated and was received in record time. A++ experience with this vendor.
