Simply Amazing Feb 23, 2010
This was probably one of the best purchase on Amazon I have ever made so far. The package came within 24 hours of purchase when I only opt for standard shipping. It came faster than my Amazon Prime items.
The device works wonders. It does what it says and more. The quality of the product and design is breathtaking. I look forward to continue buying Satechi products. It'll be a purchase you won't regret.
(Side Note: I love how the packaging and design of the product looks and feels so similar to the iPhone.)

Great source of backup power Feb 21, 2010
Over the duration of five days I used the iCel to keep my iPhone charged and it did so wonderfully. I don't know how many times it fully recharged my phone, but the iCel still had two dots of power left. Again, it's great as backup power for iPhone (or anything else that can charge via USB).

This was a gift for my mother who while not being terribley tech savvy has a lot of gadgets and travels a lot. Most of her gadgets relate to photography and she needed a way to charge her phone, itouch, and photo storage. This does it all and was so simple to set up and use. A perfect gift for people on the go with a few or lots of things that need charging.

I just got back from my first business trip where I needed my 3GS iPhone to last more than the normal 8-10 hours of extended use before recharging. This little guy came in handy when I was able to re-charge my phone when I didn't have access to a normal power supply. If you're looking for a reliable recharger that will fully charge your phone 2 or 3 times before needing a recharge itself, this is the charger for you. Thanks Satechi for a GREAT and useful product!

Excellent External Battery For USB Devices Jan 31, 2010
I purchased this for use with a Viewsonic Moviebook VPD400 4.3-Inch HD Digital Portable Player. It is a very nice player but the battery only lasts about 4-5 hours when watching video, enough for about 2.5 movies. With the addition of the iCel I can watch an additional 6 movies, enough for very long trips.
The iCel was exactly what I wanted. A simple USB battery with lots of power in a small light package. It is hard to judge from the photo but it was smaller than I imagined, about the size of a short wide candy bar. The shipping weight says 1 lb but the battery itelf weighs only 4.4 oz (1/4 lb).
All you need is the included USB cable and a USB power source (laptop or USB AC/Car adapter), no additional chargers or cables to lug around. It is fairly attractive and comes with a nice cloth pull string carrying bag which has extra room for the cable and a few other things. It has 5 small green LEDs which indicate the charge level when you push the single button.
I originally looked at the Duracell Power Reserves. The Duracells are very similar in function but the largest model (Duracell Powerhouse UBS Charger with Lithium ion battery / includes universal cable with USB and mini USB,) is only 2000 mAh. Cost at a local Rite-Aid was $45. The Satechi has 2.2X the energy storage for only $15 more and is not much bigger or heavier. It is about 1 inch longer but 0.5 inch narrower and only slightly thicker. It only weighs only 1 oz more than the Powerhouse at 3.4 oz. The Duracell includes a USB cable but no case or bag.
I also looked at the Energizer "Energi To Go" models at a local Fry's. They do have a 4000mAh model (XP4001) at about the same cost as the iCel, but it is much larger and weighs 1 oz more. It seems to require a special adapter to charge it instead of using a standard USB mini port like the iCel and Powerhouse. It includes an AC adapter and several cell phone tips and has 2 USB power ports so you can charge two devices at the same time. But I didn't care about any of those additional features. In the end the iCel is exactly what I wanted and seems to work just as expected.
