Description

Featuring a sleek new design with a user-friendly interface, Soundfly BT provides a live full duplex communication solution using Bluetooth technology through FM transmission to your FM car radio and allows you to speak to callers through an external DSP microphone. Soundfly BT is pairable with any phone equipped with Bluetooth functionality or a connection to a Bluetooth adaptor. Bluetooth A2DP technology enables wireless transmission of music from your cell phone. If an incoming or outgoing call is made, the music will be paused. The transmission of music will resume automatically when the call is ended. Soundfly BT also lets you listen to sound files such as MP3 & WMA file stored in portable memory devices like USB flash memory & SD card, etc through your car radio speakers. It supports RDS (Radio Data System), so when you receive a phone call, caller id will be displayed on your car stereo, or while listening to music, you can see the song and artist/'s name displayed on your car stereo. Soundfly SD transmits to all FM frequencies (88.1MHz-107.9MHz) and memorizes up to 7 FM frequencies. It is equipped with a fully functional remote control. You can answer/end calls, change volume, change frequency, folder shift, fast Forward & Rewind, Repeat or Bookmark your favorite songs through the remote. Note: You need to do iPhone OS 3.0 Software Update on your iPhone 3G for A2DP Bluetooth Stereo connection. Because of iPhone's Bluetooth AVCRP capability, this unit can only support vol +/- and play/pause functions. Track forward or back functions are not supported until it is changed in iPhone's new update

2not what it seems  Feb 05, 2010
The discription paints a nice picture BUT...... The manual is ambiguous. I am using an MP3 player with my W385 motorola along with the much anticipated handsfree device, the cell phone does not work unless you turn OFF the player, as oppossed to the discription that states the music will automatically pause upon receiving phone call. Because the manual does not elaborate on proceedure and what is what - I fiddled with this thing for hours and could not make it work as discribed. I finally made a call and the sound thru my car speakers was GOOD but the recieving party said my voice was coming from a tin can-even with the microphone close to my mouth. The quality of music from my MP3 to the car radio is so-so, which I suppose is true for most FM transmitters. The remote did NOTHING. I am assuming that if you have state of the art Radio and maybe a different music device and a fancy new I-phone it may work better. Again, this is where a better discription of item, proper manual information and best equipment to use would come in handy. I am returning this product. Great Idea, Need more info before you buy it.

1Not for iphon users  Feb 05, 2010
I've used Soundfly BT for few days and had so many problems that I've stopped using it.

1. The Bluetooth connection with my iphone was lost between calls.

2. Moving from hearing music to get a call or to dialing one often result in losing the Bluetooth connection as well.

3. The only way to reestablish Bluetooth connection was to turn the Soundfly BT off and on again.

4. The streaming music quality via the FM transmitter was not good enough and the sound quality driven from the units' headphone jack was even worse.

Today I had installed fix hends free system in my car and put the Soundfly BT away.

I think that the promise delivered was false promise and although the idea was very good the compatibility with iphone is far of being established.

I will certainly not suggest any iphone holder to purchase this unit.

4Love It  Feb 05, 2010
I have a Palm Pre with all my music on it, Pandora, awesome Sprint turn by turn navigation, etc. that I wanted to enjoy in my car. I wanted to have "Ford Sync" like functionality but changing out my car radio with one that did Bluetooth was going to get enormously expensive and a new car is out of the question for now. What to do? I found my Soundfly BT Ultimate Bluetooth Car Fm Transmitter featured in Amazon, did some research, and decided that, for the price, I couldn't go wrong. What I found was an outstanding solution to my problem. I'm getting nearly flawless bluetooth sound forwarding through the Soundfly to my FM car radio. Not only do I hear my iTunes and Pandora over the speakers, I also hear the turn by turn navigation. With the built-in microphone, I have a great hand's free phone solution (required by law where I live) that plays the sound through the stereo system. I think it is one of my best purchases of the past 12 months and consider it a bargain at the price.

2Didn't work with iPhone 3GS  Jan 30, 2010
I had high hopes for this product based on all the other positive reviews. It was very easy to install and pair with my iPhone 3GS. The ipod sound quality and functionality was great and the sound quality on the phone was almost as good. Unfortunately, after the first phone call of each paring was completed, if I went to make or receive another call, the phone would not switch over to the Soundfly. I contacted Satechi and was informed that it was an incompatibility with the way the iPhone's bluetooth worked. The product itself unfortunately didn't work for me but I still would rate it highly for anyone not using an iPhone.

5This thing does everything!  Jan 08, 2010
I highly recommend this device! I have an '06 Volvo S40 that makes it very
difficult to integrate with the stereo (no aux input, fiber optic
inputs, no aftermarket workarounds, thanks volvo!), so I am forced to
use an FM transmitter. Thankfully, the Soundfly BT Ultimate exists. I have an
iPhone 3GS and use it paired with the SoundFly in the car and it works great!

Apple was lazy and only implemented AVRCP 1.0, so the iPhone
only does play/pause and does not give track information to the Soundfly
at the moment. Hopefully that will be addressed someday with an iPhone firmware
update.

Pros:
* Decent call quality and comes with a good wired microphone.
* Bluetooth pairing works great and so does A2DP music streaming.
* Ultra-compact, probably the only device that could fit in the space i have
without obstructing the cup holder or the shifter.
* FM signal quality is reasonable and easy to tune with remote.
* Seamless transition from playing music to handsfree calling.
* Caller's voices sound very clear through radio.

Cons:
* ive been told my voice can sometimes come across as a bit warbly on the
other end (not that iphones are the best for phone calls to begin with).
* Certain functions require using the remote.
* Can be a little touchy in terms of losing power if i bump the wrong way.
* Initial setup can be a little confusing due to very few buttons on device.
