No, this product is only compatible with the 2017 iMac and iMac Pros because it requires Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports to connect to the adapter. Older iMacs may or may not have a Thunderbolt 2 output which isn't the same as the latest Thunderbolt 3 port. If you happen to have an open USB-A port, a USB-C Female to USB-A Male adapter will allow you to connect the Clamp Hub Pro to a model of iMac previous to 2017. We can confirm that the Micro/SD card reader slots will identify UHS-ii cards but will operate at the UHS-i theoretical read and write speeds. These speeds are determined based on the class of the card itself.
