Very easy to install. A fast and increase way to increase memory especially for drive backup. The enclosure design should have had a simple locking mechanism for the Mac 4 mini.

I was looking for a solution to expand the storage of my base-model Mac mini M4, with just 256 GB of internal storage, since Apple charges an arm and a leg for more of it. I first read about the enclosure in The Verge's "Installer" newsletter and kept it on my radar until I needed the storage. The 40 Gbps transfer speeds, the matching finish to my Mac, and the ability to choose my own drive and change it at will sealed the deal and I have been thrilled so far!
I've experienced zero problems and it has been fast, beautiful, and portable. The installation of my drive (I went with a Samsung 990 Pro) was super simple as well. You plug the drive in (there's only one possible orientation), screw down the end, apply the thermal pad, and you're done. I love the small touch of having a storage slot for the USB cable and the twist-off back for easy access.
The combination of the drive and enclosure, with APFS, has native read and write speeds; I've edited in Premiere Pro and other Creative Cloud apps entirely off of the enclosure and it works like a charm. I love that I can easily unmount the drive and plug it into another Mac and instantly have my projects for my colleagues to access.
Once again, an emphasis on the design: it's thoughtfully and perfectly matched to the shape and finish of my Mac mini. It looks beautiful and feels beautiful, and was a driving reason behind my purchase.
