Our USB-C Magnetic Charging Cable uses Qi-wireless charging technology and can still charge other devices wirelessly without the magnetic "snap" feature if they are placed on a flat, stable surface. The indicator light will slowly fade in and out to indicate it is charging and will blink on and off if there is a charging error.
We can confirm that the second generation of AirPods was available with both the original case and
the AirPods Wireless Charging Case, which includes the LED indicator on the outside of the case.
If your AirPods case has the LED indicator inside the case when opening the top, then it is NOT the wireless charging version and must be charged directly connected to a lightning cable. Please use the following image for reference:
