Works on my Mac and my iPad!
Installed a Sata 256 MB card and formatted it for my Mac and iPad then off to the races. Used the HDMI port from my Satechi Hybrid attached to my iPad then to a large screen TV for a presentation and so far it's working great. Only drawback is the there is not another type C port. The one on the unit is for charging, which by the way also works well.
